Today, Tai Brandon Kelly pleaded guilty in Criminal District Court to making obscene phone calls to WWL-TV’s popular anchor Sheba Turk. Kelly, 34-years-old from Gretna, was originally charged with stalking Turk and was set to go on trial.
In a last minute plea bargain, Kelly pleaded guilty to one count of making obscene phone calls under Louisiana R.S. 14:285 and avoided jail time.

Judge Franz Zibilich sentenced Kelly to a suspended term of six-months at the Orleans Justice Center and two-years of inactive probation. Kelly was also ordered to perform 40-hours of community service, complete 30-hours of counseling, undergo a psychiatric exam, and pay $744.50 in fines & fees. Kelly is also barred from purchasing or possessing a firearm during probation.
Kelly was represented by attorney Cody Loggins with The Bagert Law Firm in New Orleans.
