“Wanted JPSO Suspect Hassan Norris Posts Childhood Pics to Facebook”

Today, Kenner police and Jefferson Parish deputies cordoned off a section of Metairie along Riverside Drive in a full-fledged manhunt looking for 20-year-old Hassan Norris, who is accused of firing a single gunshot at a Kenner police officer following a routine traffic stop.

After scouring the area for hours with police, K-9 units, and even a sheriff’s helicopter, Norris is still on the run and is apparently on foot. Two nearby schools shuttered their campuses and sheltered in place. Some businesses locked their doors and many residents stayed inside – fearing the worst.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Norris on a single count of attempted first degree murder of a police officer.

Interestingly enough, Norris has a public Facebook profile and has no pics posted as an adult. Instead, his profile is filled with childhood pics of him from 2011 – 2012. According to Norris’ profile, he is from Kihei, Hawaii, studied at Bonnabel & O. Perry Walker high schools, and has lived in Metairie with his mother & sister for a number of years. Norris apparently moved to Texas for a while in 2013 before returning to Metairie.

Throughout the available pics of Norris as a child, he is older well beyond his years and fascinated with such destructive things as the violent Bloods street gang and smoking marijuana. Some of his prized possessions at the time included a red & black pair of Nike basketball high-tops and a matching Chicago Bulls cap.

Nowhere throughout Norris’ adolescence is there any mention of his father or a male relative in his life. It is clear that Norris grew up underprivileged and unsupervised as a teenager - left to his own devices.

Norris was last seen today wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap. He is described as tall with a thin build.
