“Bail is Set at $750K for Escort Implicated in Mardi Gras Murder”

Yesterday, the local media widely reported that 25 year-old Megan Hall surrendered to authorities at the Orleans Justice Center on an outstanding warrant for second-degree murder. Hall, who goes by the alias “Leana Marie” on escort dating websites, is accused of killing a 62 year-old Pennsylvania businessman, Patrick Murphy, at the Empress Hotel in the Treme.

Early Thursday morning, Murphy & Hall checked-in at the front desk. Murphy paid the tab but put the room in Hall’s name. Approximately two-hours later, Hall left the hotel alone. On Friday, hotel staff found Murphy dead in a bloody scene, reportedly the result of stab wounds.

Today, Hall was in Magistrate Court with her attorneys, John Fuller & Marcus Delarge. Commissioner Robert Blackburn set bail for Hall at $750,000. Hall is due back in court on March 29, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. for a status hearing.
