“An Unclaimed $1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in NOLA is Set to Expire Soon”

People in NOLA are feverishly checking their glove compartments and car consoles looking for old lottery tickets. If you purchased a Powerball ticket in New Orleans in late August of 2018, you may be sitting on an unclaimed $1 million jackpot.

A ticket purchased at Ideal Mart in New Orleans on August 25th 2018, matched all five white-ball numbers but not the Powerball number. In case you find any crumpled lottery tickets laying around, the numbers are 20-25-54-57-63.

The winner has until 5 pm on February 21st 2019, to claim their cool million at any of the five Louisiana Lottery regional offices or its headquarters in Baton Rouge.

If the winnings are not claimed by the expiration date, the money is forfeited forever.

In a similar story, a $1.7 million Lotto ticket sold on June 6th 2018, at the International Market in Metairie also went unclaimed for months. According to Lottery officials, a winner finally stepped forward to claim the windfall just prior to expiring on December 3rd 2018.
