“Have You Ever Received a Phone Call or Message from the Dead?”

There is an episode about phantom messages on the classic T.V. series “The Twilight Zone,” which originally ran from 1959 – 1964. A young child began hearing the voice of his recently deceased grandmother talking on his toy telephone.

But instead of being a storyline from a horror or sci-fi show, there are numerous documented instances of ordinary people receiving so-called phantom messages from deceased loved ones.

On Monday, September 24, 2018, the syndicated radio talk show “Beyond Reality Radio,” which is broadcast locally in New Orleans on WWL Radio 870 am & 105.3 fm, presented the authors of a new book titled, “Phantom Messages: Chilling Phone Calls, Letters, Emails, and Texts from Unknown Realms.”

The authors, William Hall & Jimmy Petonito, recited striking past & present examples of family members receiving messages on landline phones, cell phones & answering machines from relatives after they have died. Oddly enough, when phantom messages came in via cell phones, a number would usually appear on the caller I.D. screen. Sometimes the phone number would be associated with the deceased, sometimes it wouldn’t, other times the number would read all 0’s or 9’s.

What do you think? Have you, or someone you know, ever received a phantom message from beyond? Is such a thing even possible, or simply inexplicable?
