"Cuban State Media Blames 'Dirty Imperialist' for Cyber Attack"
There has been tension between the U.S. and Cuba since the days of the Cold War in the early 1960's. Those tensions led to the Bay of Pigs Invasion and eventually culminated in the Cuban Missile Crisis, which brought the World to the brink of nuclear war.
Things have simmered-down since those days, even though numerous U.S. presidents, from John F. Kennedy to George W. Bush, continually tried to have Fidel Castro assassinated over a span of 50-years.
However, in August of 2017, those tensions reheated when claims began to surface that U.S. diplomatic employees in Havana began experiencing bizarre physical symptoms from, what is now believed to be, a high-tech "sonic attack." Two dozen State Department workers reported hearing strange sounds at work or in their hotel rooms, followed by concussion-like symptoms, such as dizziness, headaches, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and problems concentrating.
One year later, in August of 2018, a pro-Cuban media website based in Spain, www.cubainformacion.tv, coincidentally came under a blistering cyber attack. On September 17, 2018, Cuban state-controlled media reported on its Twitter handle @Granma_English that Cuba Informacion TV was decimated by a "dirty imperialist strategy," a common reference to the United States government.
According to its website, www.en.granma.cu, & social media page, Granma - English is the official voice of the Cuban Communist Party.
What do you think? Did the U.S. attack the website of this pro-Cuban media outlet Cubainformacion.tv as retaliation for secret "sonic attacks?" Is it all just a coincidence? Or, is it a ploy to fuel further political tension?
