"Border Patrol Agent Turned Serial Killer Arrested in Laredo, TX"

In other news today, while the mainstream media has focused on the sexual misconduct claims leveled against Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Juan David Ortiz, who was initially arrested on charges of aggravated assault, is now believed to be a Texas serial killer.

Ortiz's arrest on September 15, 2018, was first reported by KGNS News in Laredo, a NBC affiliate, and later picked up by BBC North America, based in Washington, D.C.

Ortiz, 35 years-old, allegedly went on a two-week crime spree in Laredo whereby, authorities believe he kidnapped & killed four women, including a transgender woman, who worked as area prostitutes in the border town.

Texas State Police was initially alerted to Ortiz the previous evening when a woman who knew him flagged down a trooper at a gas station, claiming that Ortiz had just threatened her at gunpoint. Troopers later located Ortiz's truck and were able to apprehend him hiding inside of a parking garage at a nearby hotel following a foot chase.

Ortiz is reportedly a 10-year veteran of the Border Patrol and previously served in the U.S. Navy. It is unknown at this time if he killed any of the women while on duty. Ortiz remains in custody at the Webb County Jail on a $2.5 million bond and has been placed on indefinite suspension from the agency.
