"U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris Blasts Brett Kavanaugh at Convention in NOLA"

Last month, New Orleans hosted the progressive "Netroots Nation 2018" political convention. The San Francisco-based Netroots Nation lists on its website, www.netrootsnation.org, that "to win big Democrats must abandon the myth of the white swing voter," referring to the 2018 midterm elections "blue wave" prediction.

The left-leaning gathering was held from August 2nd - 4th, and attracted such important keynote speakers as democratic U.S. Senators Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren & Cory Booker, as well as political newcomers Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cynthia Nixon & Paulette Jordan.

Perhaps Sen. Kamala Harris got the most direct during her 25-minute speech on August 3rd, when she called out Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

At a whopping 5-minutes into her remarks, Harris started in on Kavanaugh by claiming that he was "handpicked by the Federalist Society," a conservative organization that promotes a strict interpretation of laws & the Constitution. Harris continued by alleging that Kavanaugh "passed a litmus test intent on ending a woman's right to choose" an abortion. Harris went on to criticize Kavanaugh by saying he believes that "the President of the United States is above the law." She finally concluded her tirade on Kavanaugh by promising to fight his nomination "tooth and nail." Harris later made good on her promise a month later by trying to sideline the start of Kavanaugh's Senate confirmation hearing on September 4th.

Kavanaugh is now facing a serious roadblock to the high court with the untimely surfacing of a decades-old sexual misconduct allegation. Christine Blasey Ford is now accusing Kavanaugh of holding her down and groping her at a party in the 1980's when they were teenagers. Kavanaugh has denied Ford's claims.

The Judiciary Committee's vote to confirm Kavanaugh, which was scheduled to occur this Thursday, September 20th, has now been postponed, with the help of two Senate republicans, so that Ford can have an opportunity to formally testify before lawmakers.

Is Harris posturing herself to run for president in 2020? Could Harris mount a significant challenge to Trump in 2020 if she successfully nixes Kavanaugh's Supreme Court hopes?
