“Did Senate Democrats ‘Collude’ With Protesters, ‘NY Times’ & Woodward?”
This week’s televised Supreme Court hearings by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill have certainly lived up to an anticipated “daytime drama.”
As Trump’s nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, sat frustrated in front of his wife and daughters, Senate democrats immediately interrupted committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley from starting the proceedings. One by one, democratic senators chimed in, complaining that they have not had enough time to look over 42,000 pages of documents that they claim were dumped on the committee at the last minute.
Sen. Kamala Harris was the first to sound-off, followed by one democratic colleague after another, seemingly in a coordinated fashion to derail the hearings. After Sen. Richard Blumenthal then called upon Chairman Grassley to adjourn the proceedings, a group of protesters started cheering & clapping. One by one, the female protesters began jeering Judge Kavanaugh from the audience, resulting in roughly two dozen arrests. The activists are reportedly from “Women’s March,” a pro-choice organization fighting for, among other issues, reproductive rights. But did Senate democrats collude with protesters to obstruct Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court?
The Kavanaugh hearings continued, as “The New York Times” published an anonymous op-ed article, purportedly from an unnamed senior official in the Trump administration. The op-ed alleges that Trump is unhinged and there is an effort among his staff to curb some of his ambitions for the good of the nation. This article comes on the heels of Bob Woodward’s latest book, “Fear,” which seems to corroborate the notion that Trump is dysfunctional and the White House is in disarray. Woodward is an assistant editor at the left-leaning “Washington Post,” which is owned by Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos.
So, are all of these recent events: Kavanaugh’s disrupted Senate hearings, the release of Bob Woodward’s “Fear,” and the anonymous “NY Times” op-ed article, all occurring within a few days of each other, simply a cosmic coincidence, or a well-orchestrated plan of attack leading up to the 2018 midterm elections?
