“Part 1: New Information Revealed About Terrilynn Monette’s Personal Life & Disappearance”
In March of 2013, the local and national media reported on the tragic disappearance of Jefferson Parish teacher, Terrilynn Monette, and initially painted her as a typical 26 year-old, successful woman that was unmarried. Monette was out on the night of March 2, 2013, celebrating a nomination by the Jefferson Parish School System for “Teacher of the Year” award.
However, according to an unnamed source familiar with Monette’s “missing person” investigation, she had another side to her personality that was sexually promiscuous. Monette’s promiscuity had muddied the investigation and caused some to assume that she became a victim of violence, rather than a fatality in a car accident. The matter of Monette’s flings was further complicated by the fact that her female family members and friends did not personally know many of the men and only heard stories about them told by Monette in which she sometimes referenced their first names. In the timeframe leading up to her disappearance, it is speculated that Monette had at least five separate men that she was physically involved with, including a full-time boyfriend that lived in California and worked as a firefighter.
Monette’s male companions included some in which she was intimately involved and others that were strictly platonic. In fact, on the night of her disappearance from Parlay’s Bar in Lakeview, one of Monette’s platonic male friends had attended the gathering with his uncle. This male friend, who “The NOLA Tabloid” will not identify, left the bar earlier in the evening for another venue to play a gig with the music band he belonged to. Even though he left, his uncle stayed at Parlay’s with Monette and the crowd of friends.
This unnamed male friend became a prime suspect by law enforcement and was repeatedly questioned and interrogated by New Orleans police detectives, to the point that he was “totally broken down” and in tears. It was whispered by some familiar with the law enforcement investigation that, even though he was completely cooperative and voluntarily answered questions, police were very close to seeking a warrant for his arrest and charging him with Monette’s murder.
A female friend and colleague of Monette’s said that this male friend wanted to date Monette and have a relationship with her, but Monette was not interested in him because he was obese. Even though there was not an attraction on Monette’s part, she would still allow him to take her out and treat her to dinners and drinks, seemingly, using him and “stringing him along.” One of Monette’s favorite restaurants was TGI Friday’s in Harvey, where the pair was known to frequent for Happy Hour.
